Comic Book Writer of Marvel's 'Alien', 'Action Comics/Superman', and DC Black Label's 'The Last God'
Phillip Kennedy Johnson is a writer and musician known for his acclaimed work in comics. He broke into the industry in 2015 with Last Sons of America and Warlords of Appalachia (BOOM! Studios), later becoming a key writer for both DC Comics and Marvel. His standout titles include Superman/Action Comics, Alien, Green Lantern: War Journal, and current fan-favorite runs on The Incredible Hulk, Batman & Robin, and Hellhunters. He is also the writer and co-creator of The Fellspyre Chronicles (DC Black Label) and Crocodile Black (BOOM! Studios). His work spans publishers such as Archaia, IDW, AfterShock, Dynamite, and Scout Comics.
Beyond writing, Johnson is a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army, serving as a trumpet player with The U.S. Army Field Band in Washington, D.C. Before enlisting, he toured globally with the Glenn Miller Orchestra (2004–2005) and performed with prestigious groups like the Moscow Ballet, Dallas Opera, Washington Symphonic Brass, Lexington Philharmonic, and the Benny Goodman Orchestra.
